Tai chi for arthritis

It is important that you listen to your own body, if you are unsure about any of the advice offered please consult your doctor.

The LFA work along side the medical profession to help you to improve the quality of your life.

The movements shown in the video are taken from the gentle warm up exercises we use in all of our LFA T'ai Chi Classes.

Practice the movements slowly, greater flexibility comes from practice (NEVER FORCE OR HOLD A POSITION).

There are many different types of arthritis the one thing they all have in common is that they are uncomfortable and painful.

Swollen joints may be helped by the application of a cabbage poultice, simply remove the thick stem from the cabbage leaf.

Iron both sides with a hot iron and apply the hot cabbage leaf to the area of pain and hold in place with a bandage.

I personally have found it helps if you go to bed with the cabbage leaf in place and remove it in the morning.

Our T'ai Chi Form exercises all of the joints of the body without strain and has proved very beneficial to lots of people suffering from arthritis.

Another area to look at is the Taoist Walk, especially if you suffer from hip problems, please study the video clip featured on the back pain button.

Recent research has proved that eliminating such foods as potatoes, tomatoes, spinach and aubergines from your diet can greatly relieve your symptoms.

The Chinese knew this information over three thousand years ago and included it in their Chang Ming diet.

Tony first came to one of my classes at the age of seventy one because he had heard that LFA T'ai Chi was good for the relief of arthritis.

Tony is now eighty six years of age and attends two classes per week.

The gentle movements of LFA T'ai Chi keep his joints mobile and he enjoys the friendly atmosphere of LFA T'ai Chi classes.
