Tai chi for menopause
This can be a devastating time for women, our bodies are changing whether we want them to or not. With menopause can come hot flushes, aching joints, bloating, lack of sex drive to name but a few.
Now to add to it all the media is full of the added risks of taking HRT.
Sometimes life feels like an emotional roller coaster, and getting through the day is hard for us and the people who make up our world.
Interestingly enough in China where women eat soya, chickpeas and other beans and pulses. The effects of menopause are not as pronounced as they are in the western world.
I feel that I can write about menopause because I to have reached that stage in my life. However, I have not taken any kind of drug or visited my doctor for over twenty years.
I prefer to follow the Chang Ming diet, I use my knowledge of LFA Tai Chi to keep me calm on what could possible be roller coaster days.
Because I continually practise as well as teach the Tai Chi Form, my joints are kept mobile without strain.
My energy levels are high and I find I am able to teach classes and workshops nationally and find the time to write books and run the LFA Association.
When I was younger I use to think fifty was really old, now I see it merely as a number. They say you are as young as you feel, if you are feeling your age then perhaps now would be a good time to take up LFA Tai Chi.
A lady in one of my classes recently told me that since she had taken up LFA Tai Chi, her hot flushes had stopped and she felt more able to cope.
Her back problems have also eased. Now she is working on easing the pain in her hip, her exact words to me where ‘Not bad for £3 a week'.
Some people feel a thing can't be any good unless it costs them a fortune. At the LFA we offer excellent value at an affordable price.
All of our registered Instructors are committed to continually updating their own training to ensure that the highest standards are maintained.
I suggest you start with the Tai Chi Form this has the effect of calming the mind, while at the same time keeping your joints mobile without strain.
Another helpful exercise is shown if you press the button for panic attacks.
