Tai Chi for MS
Please remember there should be no strain when practising any part of LFA Tai Training. If you are unsure please consult your doctor.
I have witnessed many people with various stages of MS improve from practising LFA Tai Chi.
Below are the four main stages that I have taught and helped people with.
1ST Stage - Balance. How is your balance? The gentle movements of our Tai Chi Form help to improve your balance and co –ordination.
2nd Stage – Numbness. Do you have lack of feeling in part of your body? We teach specialised breathing exercises to help you move your body's natural energy round your body.
3rd Stage – Lack of mobility. I personally have taught people in wheelchairs, who are unable to take their own weight for any length of time. The movements of the Form are practised from a seated position.
4th Stage – Bedridden. Mentally alert, with the use of only one little finger. Taught by LFA Tai Chi Video, the movements can be practised in the head and the correct breathing applied. The person caring for the MS sufferer can also practise the LFA Tai Chi Form. It helps to ease stress and calms the mind.
The LFA is a caring profession and we would like to help you. We can only do so if you put in the effort.
Often people come to me and ask me what they can do for whatever ails them. My medicine chest consists of movements, and correct breathing exercises, that can be practised without strain.
When my youngest daughter was at school her teacher asked her class ‘What would you find in a first aid kit?' My daughter replied, ‘Ginger and a cabbage.' I have no magic wand, however, I have seen miracles work in many ways.
I use the cures I have been taught in over 20 years of training. ‘The movements taught within our Arts have worked for others, try them for yourself.'
Another area is diet, it is important to assess your diet. If you feed your body junk, it will not help you. I follow a 3000 year old health diet, not a diet to lose weight but a diet to improve the quality of my health.
The diet is called Chang Ming and it involves eliminating harmful foods and substituting foods that will help.
In the West we are trained to follow our taste buds, perhaps we should look at re-educating them. Find out more about this by clicking on the 'health diet' button.
Breathing. We all breathe from the moment we are born without giving it a second thought.
Try and practise breathing deep into the abdomen, this way you use all of your lungs and will help to eliminate toxins from them.
